Question IPAQ 2210 shuting itself down??

    Hi Can anyone help

I have a HP Ipaq 2210 which I use with a incar charger for TomTom. Recently I have noticed when the PDA is on charge for long periods in the car, it gets very hot and will shut itself down. To get around this prob, I unplug the charger but then the battery runs down very quickly. Has anyone heard of this problem before??

    Thanks

I've not heard about this particular problem. But it does sound like your battery is on its way out. Replacement batteries are reasonable on fleabay.
You should also make sure you get a backup of your PDA.
I've got the same model as you. When the battery runs fully down, the internal memory is completely wiped so ALL applications have to be reinstalled.
Don't rely on Active Sync backup (like I did!). After doing a restore with AS my PDA would no longer boot! Personally I would recommend Spb Backup, which allows backup to SD Card and creates an exe to run from your SD to restore if you are away from your PC.
Appologies if you already know the above.
