    external hard drive

    as title says i have a seagate external hard drive ,its stoppede showing anything on it,its plugged in and shows me stuff but only about 30 mega bytes and i think its 500gb one any idea how to get it back ???

    If its USB take it out of the case and plug into PC or a docking station, most likely the USB interface has died

    ok took it apart and put it into docking station ...........nothing its 75 gb i know

    If it does not find it whatsoever, by that i mean no message at all on your PC nothing new in administrative tools- disk management when you plug it in
    try banging each thin side on your palm of your hand a few times as it might be stuck

    if that don't work destroy it

    yea disk management sees it ,and i can see it when i go into computer its there ,but when i go into properties it only shows about 47 mb
