If you're still deciding on what set-top box to plug into your telly, help could be at hand from EE. The network provider has just launched its own EE TV box across the UK, and you can pick one up in-store for free - well, if you sign up to a broadband plan that is. Could this be your telly box of choice? Let's take a look.

EE's ready to invade your living room, starting with its own set-top box. The phone network is now offering its first TV box, handily named the EE TV, for the low cost of free to new or existing customers with an EE Broadband plan that costs ?9.95 a month. The box itself is billed as being pretty smart, boasting 70 Freeview channels, streaming services like YouTube and Demand 5, and it can also serve as a hub for four phones or tablets to use the service too. That means you can keep watching TV via the EE Box whether you're in the kitchen or another room on your smartphone or tablet.

You'll be able to pause, rewind or record live and pre-recorded programmes on those four gizmos, while the EE TV app lets you manage your recordings and flick a show from your phone to the big screen. There's also a handy Replay feature that lets you choose six of your favourite channels to record, and you can catch up on anything from the past day.

The box itself - worth ?300 - comes armed with a 1TB hard drive which can store around 600 hours of standard definition TV. If you want to get in on EE's TV service, you'll need to sign up for the network's broadband service which starts at ?9.95 a month (plus ?15.75 for line rental) to grab a box. And to tempt current EE customers, if you're on a pay monthly mobile plan and sign up for EE TV and home broadband, you'll receive a 4G data boost, pushing your allowance up to 10GB or 20GB depending on your plan. Does it sound tempting at all? Or will you be sticking to your Freeview box?
