well it has worked before via usb to rs232 ... this is the way i always did it

If your usb to rs232 [ serial ] worked before on your old router, would you not need to set a port on your new router or on dream-up to get it through your router ?? i also use to get a usb to serial cable working on my laptop, and then for some reason it stopped working alltogether, so what ive got now is a express card to serial and have no bother at all now. also, what about disabling your router dmz [ de-militarized zone and see if that lets you through ??? although is not recommended to leave it like that all the time m8

When any of the LAN clients on your network want to be always assigned fixed IP addresses, add a static lease for each such LAN client. You may need to know the MAC addresses of the clients in advance in order to process the set-up quickly
