Hi,
I have an Arris Cadant C3 CMTS lying around. I am trying to run some experiments with a one or two cable modems.
I have the CMTS up and running, however, since another CMTS (CISCO) exist on the same network, some of their cable modems are being locked in my C3 downstream frequency.
I was wondering wether it would be possible to allow specific cable modems (using their RF mac), which i specify in DHCP or in CONFIG file. So that other cable modems automatically knocks off from my CMTS without having to manually reboot them.
From searching, i think this can be achived by using Vendor Specific information in windows server 2003 DHCP option 60. However, i dont know how to go forward from there. I am using Arris cable modems, and the cisco CMTS uses Motorola cable modems.
It would be great if any one could shed some light on this.
Cheers
