    Question Freesat setup suggestions please...?

    Evening All,

I have just let my Sky+ HD contract finish & so I am looking at switching over to a Freesat setup, naturally I'd be running it off my existing Sky dish.

As I'm new to the Freesat "arena" if any of you could recommend any boxes etc that would be brilliant.

    Cheers,

    Jamo

I have the same box and it's great. My only real issue with it is when you press 'guide' it can be a little 'laggy' on use. And seems to wait to download the guide before playing the channel you were watching in the background. Why it can't download that automatically when you're not doing anything...

    Re: Freesat setup suggestions please...?

Anyone frustrated with the extreme lag when bringing up the TV Guide on the Foxsat HDR, use this instead: press Schedule then Red.

It's really frustrating that Humax seem to have given up on this otherwise great box. Really wish they'd fix the subtitle issue when pausing or rewinding live TV Hidden Content

I have a similar dilema, in that I have a sky dish (currently not mounted) and require a digital TV signal in an outbuilding.

I was going to buy a freesat box, but to be honest these days I hear very little about Freesat. Now that more and more transmitters are giving over space to Freeview and FreeviewHD is well and truely arrived, is there any advantage to getting a freesat box? Freeview HD boxes seem cheap, is already having a dish good enough reason to go freesat or not? Are there any other benefits I dont see?

    Thanks.
