    info Freesat/freeview

Ok complete newbie (waves hi), so forgive the numpty questions..
The Mrs isnt interested in Sky and wont pay for it... I have freeview, but as you will well know chanels are limited, so to freesat users is it really worth taking up... I'm a muso and love music videos of which Freeview is tosh.. and really would like more veriaty..
does location make a diferance to channel availability?

    Re: Freesat/freeview

Yes it does make a difference

You can check the coverage by entering your postcode on the freeview site coverage checker and it will tell you which channels you should be able to receive

    Code:
Hidden Content note tho that this is just a guide based on transmitter location and it would also depend on your aerial and if you have tree's, walls or houses in the way of your aerial

    Re: Freesat/freeview

There are a lot more music channels on freesat but they are non-freesat channels and have to be added manually

Interesting read. I am too looking at freesat as reception of freeview is really poor.

    Re: Freesat/freeview

I've had Sky, Virgin, Freesat and Freeview. Would say that Freesat is worth getting.

If you don't have a dish installed, don't dismiss Sky completely out of hand. You can get a decent deal on packages (including broadband, phone etc). Then after a year you can just cancel your subscription and use the dish and box for Freesat.
