Hopefully someone is able to assist.
I (mistakenly) turned my Dell laptop off yesterday without it following the normal shutdown process. It now will not boot up properly. Basically the laptops appears to 'hang' at the MS Windows XP flag...it does not move from there.
I don't have a Installation CD and cannot get to a command prompt as when running in safe mode (any version) it just gives me the "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS\Syste m32\DRIVERS\..." error. When I run a diagnostic pre full boot (i.e. F12...Diagnostic) it sticks when looking at the partitions.
Is there any sites (even MS) that provide the software to enable me to make a new XP installation disk or does anyone have any ideas of how I can get the laptop back up and running?
Any help would be appreciated.
