Imgburn How to Xbox 360 games

-A simple to understand, step by step guide to using ImgBurn-

The first thing to do is to get a copy of ImgBurn at Hidden Content (it's free) and install it.

The first time you load Imgburn you will see the 'EZ-mode Picker' screen. Choose 'Write image file to disc'

If you prefer to not have that screen then you can change which mode ImgBurn will start in
from 'Tools-Settings - Events tab - 'On Startup - Set Program Mode'

One thing I would recommend to do the first time you run ImgBurn, and this only needs doing once,
is to manually set the layer break.

From the main screen click on "Tools" then down to "Settings"

A box will pop up, the tab you want is "write" you can ignore the rest, the default settings are fine, so
just click on the "Write" Tab.

Now over to the top right you will see "Layer Break (for DL Media)" You need to select
"User specified" then, where it says "sectors in L0", enter 1913760
    Click ok.

That's the layer break set. You never need to do it again, so if you get a disc image with no .dvd,
it doesn't matter, you can just load the image file instead.

One thing to note is that the layerbreak of 1913760 is specifically for 360 games. If you burn anything else on a dual layer then you will have to amend that.

Ok you downloaded your game, unpacked it and checked/fixed it with *abgxgui360 (download from hxxp://abgx360.net/) and now you're ready for burning.

    1) Open Imgburn. Make sure "Mode" is set to "Write"

Booktyping is often automatic on a large number of burners and while it used to be necessary to be set manually for some drives this is no longer the case and can be ignored.

    2) Ensure that if you have more than one drive, the correct one is selected in "Destination"

    3) Insert a DL DVD+R in drive (recommended media = verbatim dl dvd+r, use other brands at your own risk). Let the drive spin while ImgBurn reads your blank disc.

    4) Browse for, and load, the .dvd for your game. If there is no .dvd then load the disc image instead (we can do this without ImgBurn popping up one of it's wrist-slaps because we set the layer break information manually earlier! ).

Once you are more familiar with ImgBurn, you can load the .dvd and open Imgburn simply by double
clicking on the .dvd file for the game you wish to burn.

    5) The information on the left will now be filled and the layerbreak of 1913760 will be displayed there. If it doesn't then stop and recheck everything!

    6) Select burn speed. I always burn at 2.4x, some people burn successfully at 4x. I'd recommend
2.4x to start with, experiment later if you wish to.

Select the number of copies (1 is default)

You can check the "Verify" box if you want, I never do, it takes ages and you find out far quicker if
there is a problem with the completed disc when you put it in the 360!

    7) Click the burn icon in the bottom left corner. At 2.4x it takes about 38-40 minutes, walk away,
have a drink or something. Please note that when the disc reaches 100%, you still have to wait for the
disc to finalise. At the end of the burn you will get a small pop up box telling you the burn has
completed, simply click " ok" on the pop up box . Over to the right the disc information will now be
displayed. Scroll down and you should see that the layerbreak is correct. Eject the disc.

    Close ImgBurn.

That's all there is to it!

Program Updates are searched for automatically by default, if disabled then updates can be found from
Hidden Content or via the 'help' button (Check for ImgBurn update)

*abgx - download, install, run, then load game iso in the browse window. Options can be left at default.
Move over to Autofix tab and choose 'Level 3' , tick all SS challenge/Response data boxes, then hit 'launch'
If the image does not verify it probably isn't in the database yet. If there was another reason, abgx360 will tell you what it was.

NOT MY WORK!! Thought it may help anyone wishing to know how to set it up and burn games on the 360. Thanks go out to Duzmi

    That's a good tutorial for a newbie TT m8.
I'm sure a lot of people new to burning 360 stuff will find it useful.
Maybe you should sticky it so that newcomers can find it easy?

No, just modded. Best to use 'good' disks and slow burn speeds

ihas burner is the only way to be as safe as you can on live with lt 3.0 BUT IT IS NOT 100% and never will be whatever c4 tells you it will never happen!! MS will always try and take you down so imo having a modded console for offline and a modded console for online is the best way and buy originals for online play

Re: Imgburn How to Xbox 360 games

I agree, no CFW is as safe as STOCK FW however, lets look at how to be as safe as possible using backups on XBL

    1. Use latest FW for your drive.
    2. Use good quality media for your backups. No cheap discs. You might think that they wont make much of a differance but check your backups and compare with KPROBE.
    3. Check all your .iso with ABGX ensuring correct settings, and patches are right for the .iso in question.
    4. Always revert back to stock fw before and console (dash) updates.
    5. Use the burner max fw, truncating is not save, if there are any CV checks in the missing data, this can flag for a ban (ie forza 4)
    6. Dont play games before release, games can hit for download 2 weeks early and you play this can also flag you.

Think i got most things there Hidden Content
