    The H: drive problem!

    Hi guys,

As you've guessed, my main drive is labelled H:

I'm not really much of a gamer, but recently downloaded a game called Area 51.

Unfortunately, it want's to save to the C: drive and there doesn't seem to be any way to change this, so basically when you play it, you can't save, which is a bit of a bummer to say the least.

Is there a way around this?

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Dav.

Why is your main drive H? is it because you have card reader plugged into your motherboard? as i use to get this on another comp and what i would do was unplug it before a install of windows.

Also theres this article for windows xp about changing drive letters etc Hidden Content

If there is no option to change the save path in game or via a config file, and your boot/system drive is labeled H: by design rather than default, how about hiving off a small partition and labelling it C:?

    Re: The H: drive problem!

It's set up using raid array, and yes has multi card readers installed, unfortunately a reinstall is not an option on this system and it tells me it can't rename the System drive letter.

Is there a way to mount a virtual c: drive on the existing system volume and then reinstall the game there to play?

    Thanks for your time dude,

    Dav.

    Hi little_pob,

There's no apparent option in game to change it and I've opened all the config files but can't find anything there.

Can you suggest how I might split off some of the system volume to create a c partition, that sounds like arunner to me.

    Thanks,

    Dav.

The 15 day trial version of Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 will allow you to partition your hard drive: Hidden Content

(Don't worry about this being a trial version. Your computer won't revert to its current state when it runs out/you uninstall Disk Director.)

    Thanks dude,

Nice prog, defragged and partioned, it's only a 7MB partition as it's the demo version, but that's plenty enough for the purpose at hand, worked a treat.

    Cheers,

    Dav.
