For the sake of nostalgia (and because I cant remember seeing this thread before), I will tell you that I am now using win7 x64.
In my opinion the best and fastest OS Microshaft have yet produced.
It's a tuned up version of Vista, which was a rushed and faulty release.
So long as you have the hardware to run it to it's full potential.
cant agree with you diablo my friend, i have tried 7 ultimate 64bit a few times and always ended up going back to vista64bit, and you know that i have hardware way more than capable of running it.
I dont think its really that much of a great operating system at all, dont get me wrong, its been a few months since i last tried it, because when i last tried it sometime after its official release i found it just wasnt that good, made my computer take longer to boot up and everything, plus that damn taskbar preview window thing that wont turn off, Hidden Content , i hate that, dont they have an on and off option for that yet ?
Also, just like vista at the start, windows 7 from what i'm still reading on various websites still has a lot of issues with a lot of hardware and drivers, thats another reason why i put it on hold for a while, i will get round to installing it again when i'm ready, but not for now, not worth the hassle if you have a good system and vista 64bit currently running, they use basically the same system spec and everything, so not a biggy, not for me anyway.
Infact, i helped someone the other day, they installed the basic version of 7 on thier pc and it was running like crap, so i suggested try using vista home basic instead, and yes, what a difference, ran much better.
so i guess its just down to how it actually likes and performs on different parts of hardware, not always necessarily that the system has to be at the recommended spec or above to run it.
thats what i find with it anyway, maybe my next install of it i will find that its running a whole lot better on my system as i would hope microsoft would have had loads of updates since the last time i tried it, we shall see, the saga continues, LOL Hidden Content
