    WiiKey Chip

Just installed wiikey and i am able to play all PAL region games but when i play Mario Party 8 (NTSC region) the game loads up the main menu and then blank screen.

So i loaded up the wiikey config disc and set the "Rigion Overide" to "ON" and save the setting but however when i go back to the menu the "Region Overide" is set to "OFF" Is this normal?

    Firmware is 2.2E

    Please help.

As I understand a lot of the NTSC games dont work right now with WiiKey. The developers of the chip are meant to be bringing out and update that you can flash your chip with, however news on this has been quiet for some time now

The chips that do multi-region all use the same method, the same as the iso patcher. There's a compatiblity list that says Mario Party won't work, I'm afraid.

    Re: WiiKey Chip

if you use the wii regiopn patcher it should work if you change your wii tv settings to 50 hz also you may want to use the wii brick blocker to take out the ntsc system update as if you do the update it has a chance of wrecking the console

    Re: WiiKey Chip

There is a PAL version of mario party, this would solve the problem.

However, everytime you put the WiiKey config disk in it loads the defaults, so you will never see the region free setting as ON, but the WiiKey does play region free, suspect to the compatibility list posted already. Also the region free patcher has the same compatibility as the mod chip. It the mod chip won't do it the patcher won't and vice versa.
