    it is lovely,i like space and beyond,universe is a mystery,sometime i think what is beyond univers,every thing has got a limit,if there is a limit to universe what is beyond it.it is so facinating

    If the Sun were to blow up or just cease to exist at exactly midnight tonight (Earth time), we would be completely unaware of this until 12.08am. This is because the Sun is 500 light-seconds (150 million km) away from the Earth, and no signal can travel faster than the speed of light.

    Similarly, it might be the case that the universe is walled in on one side by discarded AOL CDs, and on the other by MPAA writs, but we'd never know about it. This is because it would take longer than the lifetime of the universe for light, gravitational waves or anything else to set out from this big pile o' junk and reach us.

    The edge of the universe isn't some great cosmic wall: by definition, it's the age of the universe multiplied by the speed of light.
