    Debug Mode

I have a Sagem Dbox 2xAMD which I need to put into debug mode. I have read PT-1 help files but there seem's to be some conflicting statements on the web between the flash reset and disabling write protect. I was wondering if any one could give me a clear step by step on how to do this.

Is soldering necessary as I am rubbish with electronics and wiring etc.

My chip setup is the one where 2 connections between the two chips are required to connect to a 9V point. PT-1 States this is for flash reset and disabling write protection another site

states this is for disabling write protection only and to do the flash reset you have to connect pin 12 to GND.

Thanks for reading any help greatly aprecciated.

Connect pin 12 of any flash chip to GND.
Pin 1 is marked at the flash chip, so you can count to pin 12.
Unfortunately the Sagem2xI has no usable soldering spot, so you have to touch the pin directly at the flash chip.
Cover the other pins with self-adhesive tape, so you cannot touch them.
    Then to disable write protection
These 2 pins must be connected to 9v

If you have a mulitimeter you can use the leads and some insulation tape to to achieve this and a m8 to press enter on the pc when you short it.
Stay away from the psu while doing this for obvious reasons.

After you get the reset flashing in the lcd hold the up button in till you get the numbers showing in the lcd then you only need to ground pin12 of any of the 2 flashchips to get the 1 block appear in the lcd then release the short.
Then you can type the setenv commands in the com window off dboxmanager.
The picture in my previous post show the flash chips.
