Thats excellent news. So it would appear that Sony despite trying to make the PS3 unhackable have provided the tools for it to be hacked through a third party. I would guess this makes the ps3 a more attractive proposition to potential buyers as they will eventually be able to play backup copies of their games. That means that games developers will lose out of course, but will do a great deal of good to the sales of the actual console bringing Sony the revenue they desperately need to make this cosole a success after all the costs incurred developing the Blu-Ray technology. I may be being a little skeptical here but the timing would lead me to think that Sony are now shafting their games developers, as well as the public, through the back door, with total denieability for it, in the name of profit and market shares over the X-Box.Hidden Content Hidden Content
couldnt agree more with you diablo. The prospect of backups realy makes it interesting.
Id say this is why they only released a few ps3,s to see where the bugs are and to test the things before they go on full sale...
but maybe im wrong
LOL sorry Bainsy but that would imply that Sony actually cared about their customers. The only reason they delayed selling in europe was because they could'nt manufacture enough of their self developed Blu-Ray componants in time to flood the market, but needed to get back some revenue to offset the development costs of it and perhaps to see how well it was received, before going into overdrive on production. As big as they are this branch of Sony has some big money problems as I understand it, so they need PS3 to be a resounding success.
They needed to get it out as quickly as possible to as many lucrative couch potato markets as they could, which is why they chose America and the fanatical games market and developers of Japan, which would supply them with support in the form of new games.
If they could have launched their customer untested first machines on us as well they would have. They did us a favour in the long run, but not by choice.
Hidden Content to America and Japan and thanks for being our guinee pigs.
maybe im wrong but didnt they only release 500,000 consoles 400,000 to the USA ans 100,00 to japan at least that was the case last time i read up on it.
there thought at that time was to make sure nothing failed so if any were to come back to them they could handle it which would not be the same if they released as amny a pos world wide.
Anyway things change and this info could be wrong but was correct when they 1st delayed the release date to next year.
I thought they had been hacked I know someone who's put a 160GB HDD on one too
Got any pics ship?
Nope but I know these guys have done the same thing
