That's without upgraded engine internals, somehow.

The durability of the 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V-10 found in today's Lamborghini Huracán and Audi R8 is well-documented. It's able to withstand a ton of upgrades and boost, returning gobs of power and relatively high reliability. This latest build from T1 Race Development, a shop specializing in GT-Rs outside of Dallas, might just be the most impressive example yet.T1 decided to pick up a new Audi R8 coupe to see just how far it could push the platform without cracking open the engine to upgrade its internals. There's an AMS twin-turbo kit fitted along with T1's own in-development fuel system, all controlled by a MoTeC ECU. While the gearbox has been upgraded to withstand the extra torque, nothing inside the engine itself has been touched. At this year's TX2K drag racing event in Texas, the car was able to break into the low 8s in the quarter-mile, registering a quickest 0-60 time of–get this—1.3 seconds. That's World Rallycross levels of quick. The key, T1 says, are the beadlock wheels fitted to the car. They lock the rubber to the wheel, mitigating any slip that may come from the massive torque going to the pavement.
