    Pace 1000 0r Pace 4000?

    Hi everyone,

Which is the most recommendable pace box to get for exCW area, between Pace 1000 and Pace 4000, in terms of reliability?

    hi m8,

    both should be fine

depends if the boxes needs setting to your area,1000 is easier only need a serial cable were as the 4000 needs a scart to serial adapter, but on the other hand both can be done with a fun card if you have a card proggy...

    cheers

In terms of reliability the 4000 wins - cooler running and more modern. It's also a much faster box.

In terms of setting up, it depends what equipment you have - if you need to get the boxkey, the chances are the 1000 will be in the database, but you'll have to jtag the 4000 (or unlock and read the card).

Definately go for the 4000, that way if the cards not paired then you've got other options for getting the BK, plus as others have said the 4000 is very reliable whereas there are loads of posts on how do I fix this problem on a 1000.

I have had problems with the 1000 including universal remote not working it, would recomend 4000.
