The Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro is one of the most ambitious road cars ever, which is part of why it's taken quite some time to get here. The 1000-hp-at-11,000-rpm science experiment is supposed to get us closer to an F1 car for the road than we've ever seen before. If a video of it bombing around Laguna Seca is anything to go by, the Valkyrie might just live up to that mission.

The car was there for the Hypercar Invitational, a three-day event focused on the wildest, most expensive cars around. The Valkyrie certainly checks both boxes there, with a price that should be around $4.3 million. So it goes for a car with a four-digit horsepower figure and a curb weight said to be under 2200 lbs.

Yet any company can offer crazy power and light weight. Where the Valkyrie really proves its F1 heritage is in its engine bay, with a screaming powerplant and a redline only rivalled by the equally absurd Gordon Murray Automotive T.50. As this video proves, the Valkyrie matches the pitch and brutality of an F1 car.
