The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is bonkers fast. Around Ferrari's Fiorano Circuit, the 986-hp all-wheel-drive hybrid ran a 1:19.0, seven-tenths quicker than a LaFerrari, and on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course this past weekend, it just took a production-car record. In the hands of development driver Franceso Arati, an SF90 ran a 1:29.625 around the Indy road course. The car used was equipped with the optional Assetto Fiorano package, which gives the car titanium springs, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and a larger spoiler to generate more downforce.

There's not a ton of data on production-car lap times at the IMS road course, but back in 2015, we had IndyCar hotshoe James Hinchcliffe set a 1:34.4 in a Porsche 918 Spyder. So the SF90 was comfortably quicker, thanks in no small part to its ultra-sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, plus the additional power and the car's more advanced all-wheel-drive system. Also of note, the SF90 was a touch quicker than a NASCAR Xfinity Series car. In practice for the Pennzoil 150 last year, Austin Cindric ran a 1:29.773 in his Mustang Xfinity Series machine.Ferrari set this lap record during a weekend that saw cars from its Challenge, FXX, and Corse Clienti programs hit the track. This SF90 was also tested by our colleagues at Car and Driver, who posted a record-breaking 2.0-second 0-60 mph run and an astonishing 9.5-second quarter-mile.
