Gordon Murray Automotive released video of the V-12 set to be used in the company's upcoming T.50 hypercar revving to its 12,100-rpm redline on an engine dyno. It's as fantastic to listen to as you'd think.Brand ambassador (and three-time Indy 500 winner) Dario Franchitti paid a visit to Cosworth, the company developing the 654-horsepower motor, to see the engine run a simulated lap of Circuit de la Sarthe (where the 24 Hours of Le Mans is raced), complete with simulated gear changes and high-speed air pressures. He spoke with engineers operating the dyno room on how they can control essentially every parameter and put different loads onto the motor to ensure perfect running in any imaginable scenario. The sound, as you've probably already guessed, is glorious. With no turbos to spool and a displacement of just 4.0 liters, the relatively small V-12 has no trouble quickly revving all the way past 12,000 rpm, climaxing in a delightfully rowdy crescendo.
