Cars & Coffee events are fun, but sometimes can get out of hand, occasionally with disastrous results. That was the case at an event in Loveland, Colorado this past weekend when a modified Dodge Challenger Hellcat lost control while trying to show off, crashing into a Chevy Silverado and causing it to roll over.
Videos uploaded to YouTube show the Challenger driver trying to show off for the crowd at the event's exit, spinning the car's tires in an attempt to pull off some kind of drift or burnout. Things quickly go wrong when the driver slides directly into the side of a Silverado pickup that just happened to be passing by. One person in the Chevy was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.Organizers for Loveland Cars & Coffee issued a statement on Instagram soon after saying it will no longer host future events due to the incident. "[It] takes one person to ruin it all, and we experienced that today," the statement reads.
If you happen to find yourself leaving your local Cars & Coffee event in a high-horsepower car this summer, please do the opposite of this. It may be tempting to show off to the cameras, but the majority of the time, it's just not worth it.
