No point in asking me as I usually break them that's why I go through a lot, atm I'm using an Asus X54H, it wasn't expensive as I don't need a gaming laptop or anything fancy on it.

Re: New computer
It used to be Intel (And probably still is, but i've not been keeping up to date recently with computer tech)
Intel chips use less power which is important in a laptop, but i believe they are much more expensive than AMD chips.
Oh and if you are getting a small laptop 13" or smaller make sure to test a demo version a little.
I got what i thought was a bargain vaio for 500 less than the UK price (had a SSD in it), the only problem was it heated up a lot, overpowered Core i7 in a 13'' slim case meant the fan was triggered very quickly and it sounds like a small plane taking off! Great laptop, but the fan is soooo annoying! Even just using Skype triggers it.

Re: New computer
When you say long in the tooth, do you mean slow or faulty or both? Hidden Content
If the notebook has once been fast enough for you. What has changed that? Hidden Content
It's all well and good if you want a change of laptop and can afford it. But it could also just need some loving maintenance? Hidden Content
