Good linux apps
Thought i'd start a thread asking people about their handy linux apps.
Will start the billing with a few.(not they are not in any order just some i use and find good)
Hidden Content to add it to linux using the sudo thingy mebob)
Calibre(can find it in the ubuntu software )
please add any you find helpful

This program is a godsend if your running a live cd and it doesnt have correct codecs to watch youtube etc installed.
Hidden Content also doesnt need to be fedora as had it running on ubuntu

Not that it's Linux specific but ffmpeg is a bloody useful tool for converting video formats. I made a script for sabnzb to convert mkv's to mp4 for Xbox. Plus a lot of software that you would pay for on windows is free on Linux for example xchat. I usually run xming on windows and run xchat on my Linux server over to my xming server on windows (x11 forwarding). You can run GUI Linux apps on a headless server and use xming on windows to see the GUI, handy for synaptic package manager on debian/ubuntu and stuff like that.
