Recording from a V box onto a lap top

Hi all it been a while hope you are all OK.
My young lad has recently been on the local news talking about his football club he plays for. I managed to record this onto the hard drive of the Vbox, but I wouldn't mind taking a copy of the box and putting it onto my lap top, eventually trying to edit it a bit and then eventually putting a copy on you-tube, then putting a link from the clubs website to the video. Is it possible to record from the vbox, I have done none of the above before so this is all new to me.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated

This was taken from vm support site
"Unfortunately it is not possible to copy from the V+ via a laptop. We do not currently carry the software that would utilise the USB connection.

The only way you would be able to archive recordings is by using a VCR or DVD recorder".
I would think you could then copy it to a disc ,play it through your laptop and edit it that way
from what i can find out it is not possible

Thanks for that Dave. Got rid of my DVD recorder a while back as never seemed to use it as everything I recorded seemed to go onto the HHD of my Sky or Virgin box so the above solution would be great. I even have some old video camera tapes I could use this on....Happy days
