Man takes out adverts against advertising
A French farmer has sparked controversy by taking out an advertising campaign denouncing the evils of advertising.
56-year-old Pierre Kung spent ?3,000 (?2,625) on 25 large billboard adverts across the southwestern town of Agen, France.
The adverts feature the image of a human brain stuffed with various advertising images alongside the slogan: "Advertising is manipulating you - react!"
"My aim is simply to get people to ask themselves questions," Kung told AFP. "Because we've been brainwashed into thinking that happiness lies in consuming ever more."
Despite his own hatred for advertising, Kung insisted that he was not a member of the militant anti-advertising group renowned in Paris for destroying billboards across the city.
A strange man indeed

I don't think he's strange, he has a good point!
Wherever you look or listen you are bombarded with advertising.
Before long we will have hearses with the CO OP logo on them and advertising where you can buy a wreath! Hidden Content

Re: Man takes out adverts against advertising
In my world there would be no need for advertising,
like everybody usually says if you see an advert for a mars bar do you go out there and then and buy one?
do you even pick one up the next time you do your shopping?
the answers probably no in most cases.
although i do love a mars bar when soggy as you can get.
actually am off to go buy a mars bar!
