?161m lotto pair 'tickled pink'
Europe's biggest lottery winners are celebrating their life-changing ?161 million prize.
The record EuroMillions jackpot was scooped by husband and wife Colin and Chris Weir, from Largs in Ayrshire, who declared they were "tickled pink" by the sheer size of their fortune. It catapults them into the Sunday Times Rich List, not far from David and Victoria Beckham.
The couple, who have been married for 30 years and have two children, said they are looking forward to using their new-found wealth to travel the world.
Mrs Weir, 55, who does not usually drink, said the win was so immense that she even opened a bottle of wine.
She said: "We just sat up. We were so buzzed. We were so full of adrenaline we couldn't sleep. We couldn't really do anything except sit. We talked to each other about how absolutely amazing this was. We were tickled pink with the whole notion of winning so much money."
Mr Weir, 64, who worked as a TV cameraman and studio manager for 23 years, said: "When we first realised we had won, it felt like a dream. Everything went into slow motion. But it feels like a good thing, something we should not be afraid of but for us to enjoy with the children."
With their new fortune, the couple want to see the Great Wall of China, visit Ayers Rock (Uluru) in Australia and take in the art galleries of Paris and Russia.
The couple have both had several serious health problems in recent years and have been unable to work - Mr Weir suffered a leg injury and rheumatoid arthritis while Mrs Weir's career in nursing spanned 37 years but she stopped three years ago because of poor health.
Their daughter Carly, 24, is studying photography at college and their son, Jamie, 22, works in a local call centre. The couple have decided to buy homes for their children, while both their son and daughter plan to take their first driving lessons.
The winning ticket was bought from McColls in Moorburn Road, Largs. The pair banked ?161,653,000 after several rollovers, with the numbers 17, 19, 38, 42, 45 and the Lucky Stars numbers 9 and 10.

Re: ?161m lotto pair 'tickled pink'
I would give some to local animal charities.
Then the usual buy a house and a good but not mad car.
I would want to see more of the world as well.
Maybe I could buy some shares in Vermin as well, to stop them capping my torrents!Hidden Content
That sounds like good result, with the money going to decent people who deserve it?
I think their bonkers as well for not staying anonymous. They will have no choice but to move now!

Hmm I think I would invest most of it in the club I support Arsenal FC and keep a few million on the side in case I destroy Arsenal.
Or I would start a wrestling company or just buy into WWE or TNA or ROH.
Or I would just start a football team an build their stadium etc.
Or build my own playboy mansion but just for my own pleasure.
Or oh FFS I wouldn't know what to choose I would be too overwhelmed with all that money.
Oh just thought of another one, id donate to WoD of course!!!

Banks are a waste of time, unless you own one!
They give nothing much for the small investor! Hidden Content

Well they could open their own branch m8 with that amount.
i think lottery wins should be capped, anything over the cap goes to charity, rollover or not.
a million is enough, 2 million is plenty, a few thousand million is ridiculous.

Re: ?161m lotto pair 'tickled pink'
The problem then is who decides which charity it goes to!
It would end up going to the Camelot benevolent fund, or the international ex politicians treacle bending society!
You need 10 million just to live off the interest, otherwise it wouldn't be inflation proof and you wouldn't be able to afford the rising gas and electricity fuel prices! Hidden Content

I don't mean to be picky but one word is hardly a post is it, your introduction in someone else's thread was a one word "hello" as well!
Try making your own introduction thread and tell us something about yourself, then we can all welcome you properly, but you will need to construct a sentence for that, or your posts won't count!

Depending a bit on how old you are, I think you would soon get bored of living like that leon?
Or you end up dead on the toilet, like Elvis!
Even with money most people need roots and a bit of stability in their lives. Hidden Content
