    Stone computer memory

    Hi Guys quick question for you my grandson has a stone computer model MR 055 came pre installed with vista basic avast 1 gig memory its a duel core but takes forever to start up and shut down,i was wanting to buy another stick of memory 1 gig but cant find out anywhere what type it takes any help much app cheers

    It should tell you on booting up what memory type is installed.

    Or

    Right click on the icon called My Computer, select properties info should display there too.

    Thanks for the quick reply nothing at start up and right clicked my computer just says 1 gig of ram thanks

    If its not giving you more details check in bios.

    1. On bootup after post information keep tapping the Del key If this doesnt work try F2.

    2. Once into the system bios, look for the system information, usually 1st entry but may not be.

    3. It should give more info.


    If none of these work you will have to remove the side (check for warranty seals before you do)
    Physically remove the memory stick from the slot and read the label.

    Another point to note is 1gb of memory may be 2 sticks installed if it is and this is the max slots you would have to replace both with 1gb sticks.

    Had to open it this is what it says kingston kvr667d255 this is 1 gig there are two slots i think the max is 2 gig so do i buy another gig the same or whats compatable thanks

    This thats the model there m8. It can take a max of 2gb 2x1gb

    DDR2 memory with support for DDR2 PC2-5300 speeds.

    Only just come across this thread. There are several programs that can check the RAM and other components installed without having to open the case. The two I prefer are the shareware/limitware Hidden Content and Hidden Content . However, Hidden Content is also a popular choice.
