    another option to consider is a wireless repeater to extend the signal in to the poor reception area. you can setup another router to act as the wireless repeater aswell.

    if it is a plasma then this it is normal for it to take time to switch on. mine takes 10 seconds. i use a vga (15 pin) cable to connect pc to plasma. this allows me to watch high definition content...

    if you are referrring to a thermostsatic radiator valve (trv) then it goes on the feed side of the radiator. the return side is used for a balancing valve to balance the system.

    for a hardware firewall to work at its fastest speed you have to open up ports. upnp helps but using this can take up some bandwidth.
    also a usb connection from your router to computer is slower...
