Well I flashed my xbox with the frimware and found i needed a comptable dvd burner to make the game,

With in the manual its states you need a burner which will support booktype.

So with a little looking I found lite-on, BTC and few other drives shound support this requirement.

I then bought this one and it works a treet.

LITE-ON DVDRW SHM-165P6S - Texted and Working.

You guys have totally lost me about DVD burners not supporting it I'm guessing you haven't put the image in the right format before burning with xISO

No the XBOX use's a file format your PC cannot understand called XDFS unlike your computer which willl either be fat32 or NTFS
Use xboxisoreader (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. to extract the original image to your computer
Use XISO (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. to create your backed up XDFS image

Well I have a Pioneer DVR-105 (not a duel layer) DVD-R and works fine

Make sure that your particular DVD-R drive supports bitsetting on the DVD+R DL media.
The booktype HAS to be set to DVD-ROM or else the Xbox 360 will not like your burn.

If its xdfs then your computer wont see it but I have to say with the "name.000" leads me to think its currupt anyway

Best way to backup from a pc is burn original to HDD (raw) and then use xiso to view the image to check it

This is the information in the nfo file

1. Unrar.

2. Burn .dvd file using CloneCD @ 2.4x on DVD+R DL media.

- No need to patch the ISO with an ss.bin, it's
done for you.

- Make sure that your particular DVD-R drive supports
bitsetting on the DVD+R DL media. The booktype HAS
to be set to DVD-ROM or else the Xbox 360 will not
like your burn.

Right if you have a nfo then its a straight rip/copy so will be the correct format I'd suggest trying Nero/stomp recordnow and burn at the lowest setting

Pioneer 111D standard firmware
Verbs, Traxdata the best always at slowest burn speed in Clone CD,
the toshiba / samsung drive in 360 is a bit more forgiving than the Hitachi drive so you can get away with cheaper media

@ spaceman

use Clone Cd version 5.2.9.1 by slysoft to burn your Image.DVD file.

I would'nt try and use nero becuase i have heard this does not set the layer change correctly for 360 games when using DL media. I use a pioneer 109 with verbatim DL media and have no problems. Some of the games dont boot straight away but i use the H.D. trick or the play and charge kit trick and have no problems.

Good Luck

See below works best for 47D -Hitachi drive

Pioneer DVR 111D
Firmware upgrade to 1.23
Verbatim Double Layer (2.4x) DVD+R
CloneCD 5.2.9.1

Burn at MAX speed with cloneCD works perfect for Hitachi drives as they dont all ways seem to like 2.4x speed burn trust me,,MAX works out to 8x speed on the Verbatim Double Layer DVD+R first time load.

Pioneer DVR 111D + Using an external enclosure
Firmware upgrade to 1.23
Verbatim Double Layer (2.4x) DVD+R
CloneCD 5.2.8.1

This worked for me for my hitachi drive.
