I had 2 hitachi ones that this happened to one of them started working again after i left it of for a few hours but it broke a few months after. It was something to do with the power supply.

Dunno if you've tried this but....

Take out the power lead out with the box on and you finger pushing the standby button...

It's usually to do with residual charge being left in the system...

keep you finger on the standby button for at least 30 seconds and then push it a couple of times to make sure all the charge is out of it...

Stick in the power lead and give it a go...

Let me know how you get on...

when my freeview box stuck like yours i phoned the manufacturers helpline and some guy told me to unplug the power supply for 2 mins and press the channel up button as you re-connect the supply.....good luck

I had this happen on a nokia 221t.

The only solution was to flash the box...... I found a beta release for it and it worked bettter than ever, changed channels faster and I never had it crash on me since.

All depends if any copiesof a suitable flash have been released for your box.
