Could be a rumour but you never know

Things just don?t seem to be going very well for Sony, at all. After all the console bashing, the shortages and consumers being simply fed up with all the crap Sony has been feeding them you?d think Sony would get their act together from here on out. Well, just to pile on the heaps of bad news here?s some more:

MeriStation is reporting that Ken Kutaragi recently admitted that supply problems for Japan and North America could force the European PS3 launch to be delayed until May ? which would mean that Japanese and American consumers might have their systems nearly six months before the eager gamers in the rest of the world.

MeriStation is actually a Spanish gaming system that has no direct ties to Sony, so none of this information is confirmed. If the rumor does turn out to be true, we?re going to see even more pissed off European gamers. It seems as though Sony isn?t even trying anymore. Maybe they?re disappointing for the world for the publicity? Remember, earlier this week, every single PS3 preorder at Gamestop sold out a few hours in.

This could be end of Sony just like Sega, I can't see what the PS3 offers that the xbox360 doesn't, for a much lesser price.

Some said the 360 was faster even before Sony had to underclock the PS3 cpu

Looks like the Japs have started turning there backs on the PS3

SURPRISING NEWS from Japan comes from stores selling the new Xbox 360 'Blue Dragon' bundle.
100,000 of the special edition consoles that come with a Blue Dragon faceplate, five miniature figures and the game Blue Dragon, have already sold out with another 90,000 on their way.

According to 1up.com, one major online retailer managed to sell out of their allotment in five minutes, with others managing to last most of the day.

This comes just weeks before the release of the PS3 in Japan, and it's a much-needed boost for Microsoft where most weeks it has been struggling to shift even 1,000 units of the 360 in the land of the rising sun.

In related console news, Sony have said that the first 500,000 PS3 systems shipped in North America will include "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," the Sony Pictures Entertainment comedy starring Will Ferrell.

This will come of some surprise to prospective PS3 owners considering that Sony have also announced that the console will not ship with a component cable, let alone any HDMI hook-up, meaning buyers wanting to view their PS3 in full-high-def glory must fork out even more cash for the privilege.

U.S. games will be released at previous-generation prices of $59.99 (expect that to translate to ?49.99 in the UK, if Sony ever ships anything to Europe), but the bluetooth enabled controllers (with unremovable batteries) will sell for a sizeable $49.99, provoking more murmurs of discontent in the gaming community.

The PS3-branded HDMI cable will also retail at $49.99. Just for your information you can pick these up on ebay for less than 10 bucks.

At least you get a nice Blue-ray film bundled-in with your $599 PS3...which you can't actually watch at full resolution unless you spend more money on 'optional' accessories. Even Microsoft bothered to bundle a component output within the 360 premium pack

Is it worth getting a PS3 if the TV is not HD?

It looks like the PS3 is to Sony what Vista is to Microsoft. That being the case, I'd say we'll be lucky to see PS3 in May......

I can't believe they've actually delayed the release for this long now its becoming quite absurd soo they'll say lets just bring it out next christmas.

The Sony version of betamax. The fanboys with money will swallow the hype, but by the time it gets here we might have holograms of Princess leia popping out of dustbins to watch. I am not a Sony knocker I have a PS2 and looked forward to the PS3. With the delays and the pointless to me Blu Loo ray and the price because it wants to be more than a games console, which is all I really want, I think Sony are on the road to ruin. Big as they are they have incurred massive debts developing this now castrated beast and I do not believe they can recoup their costs with the present marketing strategy.
If I was going to need to take out a mortgage, I think I would rather have a house. :53:

Latest news on the HD versus Blu-ray front is that the porn industry has decided to support HD. The porn industry sells more DVD's than anyone else so this is a massive blow (pardon the pun) to Sony's Blu-ray ambitions. I think it will be a flash in the pan system with the exception of the PS3 and Sony are going to suffer greatly because of this as there is now no incentive to buy a PS3 as a home entertainment centre, so it will only be bought as a games system. The Xbox 360 is already established and the PS3 , especially at it's present price, does not offer enough advantages over that system to win the war.

I think these people will delay untill CRISTMAS they know they will make more money at that time just like when PS2 was release.
