just bought a samsung plasma and i am worried about the heat from it.
i understand the vents at the top of the tv should be hot, however the actual screen is even hotter than the vents, is this normal or a faulty tv?

thanks in advance

my 42" panasonic plasma screen gets hot but not red hot as others here have commented. essentially it's just due to the way that they work, each pixel contains a gas plasma which is electrically heated to get it to glow hence the heat.

I've got an LG 42" Plasma and you can feel the heat off the screen from about 2 feet away and yes it is normal for the reasons IamTeaf already stated. Apparently when they first came out Phillip Schofield demonstrated how great they were on the telly and kissed sombody on the screen. He burnt his lips,:roflmao: Wish I had seen that, what a pillock.
