It may have 43-inch wide tires and four-wheel drive, but Son Uva Digger still spins its wheels off the line.

As a world champion Monster Jam driver, Ryan Anderson is more used to crushing cars than shredding tires. After all, his 12,000-pound "Son Uva Digger" monster truck isn't the most obvious drag strip contender. But when you have access to 1500 hp and some free time, nobody can blame you for giving it a shot.
Surprisingly, the monster truck fares quite well. Despite its massive weight, all-wheel-drive, and huge tires, the truck still smokes its rubber while it launches. Once it hooks up, Son Uva Digger is properly quick, almost keeping up with a 600-hp purpose-built drag car.

In the final race, it even wins. That's in no small part because the 1955 Bel Air "Tri 5 By Fire" starts to slide out from under its driver, but it's still fun to see a six-ton truck pulling ahead of a stripped-out custom performance build.

The video also gives us a new appreciation for Monster Jam drivers. As the cabin shots show, the truck requires a lot of steering input to keep it moving straight. Plus, the four-wheel-steering system and knobby tires certainly aren't designed with drag runs in mind.
