View Full Version : hd xbox360 without component imput

i have just purchased a hi-def plasma tv, however it has no component imput to recieve hi-def signals only an hdmi. the lead with my xbox is component "therefore no good " can i change this to hdmi or am i to only play games on low-res.

any help here is welcome

does your tv have a vga input?

you can get a 360 vga lead and use that.

I think you can get component to hdmi convertors, but I think they are very expensive.

The vga cable would be < 10 its what i use and works VERY well. Cheapest solution

Microsoft should have looked at this a little better i think as they only allowed for people with component imput only when you buy the 360 in the form of the premium pack and that seems a little off to me. You spend all that money on the console and then you have to spend even more money to get it to play in HD! (:|

Yeah I wish console companies would stop giving us those NASTY compostite cables, they were fine 15 years ago :bomb:

well there are convertes available -vga to hdmi
vga-dvi
it does suck that they cant even give us a flaming scart lead let alone hd cables

just a note a lot of plasma screens are native screen res on there own vga inputs i have a 43inch pioneer and the 360 vga cable wouldnt show on my screen but my laptop runs 1024/768 and no higher so you want to go
360 vga to hdmi/dvi input to make sure

There are romours that Microsoft are going to anounce a 360 to HDMI lead on the 22 Nevember, along with the anouncment of 80/100 Gig Hard disk, perhaps its worth waiting on to see
