let it run through its procedures until it told me it was finished andto removethe flash drive andreboot
rebooted it

now it has a message on its little screen that says:

update on this
tried openvix 166 and that failed, also tried several others

I tried the original vix not the openvix and that seamed to install and work, so I'm guessing its software not hardware
any suggestions????

Is it a clone? is it just a duo or duo2
try a blackhole image, also try using a different usb stick

hope its not a clone, paid full pops for it from a sponsor off here world of satellite I believe
just tried loading blackhole, its got further, it went through boot, and now its on a blue Vu+ Black Hole screen... in the bottom corner it says Starting gui, but its been on this screen about 10 minutes now, so I'm assuming that's failed too

Hi jedex

If you keep on having problems with this box
I would say get hold of world of satellite were you got it from
and just explain the situation you are having with it.
I think they will help you get this back up and running

message sent to the sore and their forum
I bought my Vu from here around a year ago, excellent machine but the software has always bee a tad glitchy, but flashing usually improved it a little.

I noticed more updates so I flashed again Openvix 1.66
Everything appeared to go smooth and got the remove usb and reboot message

on rebooting it wont start up, just a message >Starting... and nothing else.
I've tried several different versions of the software and its the same every time

I tried the original Vix software and that worked fine, so I tried again with Openvix and it stopped at the same place
I've even tried Blackhole.. that went OK, went through all the booting screens but as soon as it got to the starting gui screen froze there

I've tried different flash drives etc.

Any help appreciated

When you flashed blackhole on and it said starting gui did you press the menu button and did anything come up or did it just hang on the blackhole screen?
what version of duo is it v2 or v3 it should say on the white sticker on the back of the box

I would suggest you update the bootloader before flashing the newer images wont work otherwise.

Then try reflash the image again delete bootloader off the usb stick 1st.

Latest loader attached for VU+DUO

well would you believe it fixed itself
i was at work and wife said it kicked in on its own
everything seems ok apart from a few channels say tuning failed
just need to look up how to fix that and we're off again

thanks for your help

Just do a scan or send these to the box using dreambox edit then restart enigma
