Microsoft will allow pirates free upgrades to Window 10.
Microsoft?s OS Chief Terry Myerson made it clear in a recent interview with Reuters that his company will look at piracy from a different angle?especially in countries such as China where it is estimated that nearly 90% of the Windows copies are purportedly unlicensed.
According to a Microsoft PR, the Redmond-based software giant believes pirates will gain some perspectives once they ?realize the value of properly licensing Windows.? People that don?t believe in purchasing a legitimate copy of Windows 10 are allowed a 1-year trial period.
The move is seen as a direct response to Apple?s free OS X upgrades, with the difference being the OS X upgrades aren?t a ?try before you buy? basis.
Windows 10 will be available this summer.
