If the Oculus Rift has proved anything this year, it's that virtual reality headsets are in, and all the major players want to get a slice of VR action. Sony's already jumping in with its Project Morpheus headset, but now it looks like Microsoft's joining the bandwagon with its own head-worn gizmo too! Fancy playing Halo in VR? It looks like Microsoft is hard at work on a head-worn virtual gaming device according to Digitimes (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. giving the Redmond giant a VR rival to take on the likes of the Oculus Rift and Sony?s Project Morpheus, and it's expected to be fully revealed at E3 in June next year.

Sources up the supply chain have revealed that the VR headset's development is being handled by the same team that's behind the Surface tablet, which is an indication that it should be packing some solid hardware when it finally hits shelves, although there?s no word on where it?ll fit in with Microsoft?s current Xbox plans.

There?s also no word on what it?ll look like, or what games will be supported, but it looks like we?ll have to wait until next June to see what Microsoft has been cooking up. Either way, 2015 should be an exciting year for VR, and we?re looking forward to seeing what Sony, Microsoft and Oculus Rift have in store for virtual reality fans.
