ChromiumOS is a lightweight, lightning-fast operating system for your netbook, laptop or even desktop. With the familiar environment of Chromium/Chrome, the entire web is at your fingertips in seconds. HTML5 is fully supported, allowing you to enjoy the very best that the web has to offer.

Vanilla builds are bleeding edge. They give you the opportunity to see and use the latest and greatest that Chromium OS has to offer. Requires only a 4GB USB drive (download size is around 250MB)

Instructions:
Download img here IMAGE (http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/download/vanilla?&version=4028.0.2013_04_20_1810-r706c4144&type=usb)

1 Use WinRAR or 7zip to extract IMG file from the downloaded archive.
2 Use Windows Image Writer (https://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/), then select the IMG file and select the USB device from the menu.
3 Click on "Write".
4 Boot from the newly created Chromium OS USB stick!

Or you can download a virtual machine version:

vmware (http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/download/vanilla?version=4028.0.2013_04_20_1810-r706c4144&type=vmware)

virtualbox (http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/download/vanilla?version=4028.0.2013_04_20_1810-r706c4144&type=virtualbox)

There are instructions for Macs and linux from the website HERE (http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/)

its ok, i used it as a virtual mc but i think running it from usb might be better! On a virtual mc , my mouse made it hard to navigate.
