Watch Dogs has gained quite a bit of acclaim and momentum over the past few months, with a massive surge of anticipation coming from last year?s E3 Expo. That said cresting wave of excitement crashed somewhat when Ubisoft announced that the futuristic crypto-stealth game would be delayed, but even still gamers are eager to experience the open-world action that is Watch Dogs.

Since the delay, Ubisoft has been noticeably quiet on the subject of Aiden Pearce?s adventures?but now the publisher has broken that silence with a ton of new info via an official press release.

The news includes an official set-in-stone and bona-fide release date of May 27th, along with a brand new story trailer to showcase some of the in-game action and set the tone for the inter-connected plot.

Interestingly enough, though, the trailer footage (which contains the game?s release date at the very end) had been leaked before the press release event, spreading the news across the net to gamers worldwide. The trailer is included above, so if you?re curious go ahead and give it a gander, and we?ve also included a gallery of new screens to boot.

Watch Dogs is slated to release for current-gen, last-gen consoles and PC on May 27, 2014 with a Wii U release will coming later in the year. For more information be sure to check out the game?s official website (http://watchdogs.ubi.com/watchdogs/en-us/home/).
