It is also claimed that the Retina iPad mini won?t be refreshed this year, and that its successor won?t come until 2015 as well.

Over the past couple of months there have been a lot of rumors about Apple?s tablet plans. It is believed that the company is working on a larger 12.9 inch iPad, one that could be geared towards the education and enterprise market. Dubbed iPad Pro, it was expected to be released later this year, but according to KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, who is often right about Apple predictions, it won?t see the light of day until at least 2015. Kuo also believes that the Retina iPad mini won?t be refreshed this year, and that it too will make an appearance next year.

That only leaves back the iPad Air. Released late last year, the iPad Air itself is an evolutionary upgrade of the fourth generation iPad. Kuo predicts that Apple will only release a refreshed variant of said tablet in the second half of 2014, presumably around the same time it always launches new iPads. This could very well be true if Apple decides to stick with its traditional release cycles.

Kuo believes that Apple will ?accelerate development? of the 12.9 inch iPad this year and that more resources will be dedicated towards the iPad Air and iPad Pro. He has heard that chances of a new iPad mini in the second half of 2014 are ?slim,? which is why the new tablet product he predicts for 2014 is an upgraded iPad Air. As always, Apple has chosen not to make a statement on market speculation, so we really have to just wait and see how this pans out.
