I am just about to try doing this myself.
The insructions don't look too hard to follow. I am quite happy to share the experience, is there anything in particular that is giving you trouble?

Which usb stick are you using and have you got working BDA drivers for it?

After a few probs I managed to get dvbsource working and got a nice litte mhg file.

Basically, I followed the directions in the quickstart txt file. Registered the filters, ran the channelscan, saved the dvb file and tried to open the dvb file in Media Player. It was all good until the final step when it refused to open it. Sounds similar to your problem.
I re-opened the .dvb file with channelscan and ticked the box to save debug log files. The log file showed a problem with loading 'tuner' xml, so I looked a bit closer at the device settings and found(behind the button with the 3 dots) a dialog that allowed me to choose between Tune Requests and BDA Interface. I chose the BDA interface, saved the dvb file again and voila! It all works a treat. Tune into RH and after a minute there is a new folder under the MHPData folder which contains some interesting mheg files.

Hope this helps.

Thom,
installation of the DVDSource just worked for me. I didnt have to do anything special. I just followed the instructions that came with it.
The dump files are created in a folder underneath the dvdsource installation directory.
What exactly are you trying ultimately to do ?
Zoomplayer+DVDSource will give you the dump files for the keygen..

If you just wanna watch RH ot TVX then theres a much easier way, and thats to get something like MediaPortal
MEDIAPORTAL - the FREE Media Center! - Home (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. add new channels for RH and TVX (by inserting the correct PID and PCR values in the channel setups and then you can watch them directly on your computer without and dumps or keygens etc..

The dump files are created in a folder underneath the dvdsource installation directory.

On my installation they are in a folder called MHPData which appears in the same location as the .dvb file. Maybe you saved the .dvb file in the installation folder?

Thom, having read BigHippos post I seem to recall that my tuner setting was already set to "BDA Interface", so thats probably why mine just worked without any problems. See if it works for you..

I'm running out of ideas here.
One thing occurs to me - the .dvb file you sent me only had RH/TVX and SS in the channels section. Have you run a full channel scan and then pruned it down or did you take someone elses channel file?
Have you perhaps editted these entries to change the PIDs?
If you have, then you will be able to view the 'scrambled' programs direct, but you won't get the vcg file.
