im a old geezer now and have done all these jobs in the past: plumber, joiner, plasterer, dry stone wall erecter, fire system fitter, alarm fitter, glazer. god i must be old. but seriously iif i dont know how to fix your problem i have my family and mates who are in all the trades and im sure i can help. ask and you shall recieve help... thank me later.. :)

any good tips on how to get a nice smooth finish when plastering m8?

yes mate. pu your base coat on then make a really sloopy mix and scim it on. when the colour goes to a light brown tht does not look dry keep wetting your float and keep going overit im a bit drunk so will add to this in the morning cos i talk bollocks when im pissed.

get yourself a garden spray bottle, fill it with water. When the plaster starts to dry out spray the water onto the plaster and run over with the trowl and if you have any lumps left sand down the next day

if you use a trowel a little bigger than the standard size it will make it easier!!

Dont try to trowel it flat too early

@pipehose i did get the professionals to do my stairs and i had to sell a kidney to pay for it;) , so i'd rather try the bairns myself...i mean he'll prob draw all over it in a couple of days anyway
