some great deals here Creative Satellite UK - International - Digital Receivers, Fortec Star , Technomate, CAMS, Official Cards (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Got a technomate 7755 but Technomate 1500 is what everyone seems to like best.

Go for a motorised system with 1m orbital dish, (future proof), Technomate 1500 is one of the best receivers around. But be aware of installation costs. If you can face the challenge, go for it, if not have at least £200 ready.

You should receive around 5000 channels but won't be able to see them all. You may connect a video/dvd recorded through the 21 pin scart (euro scart) but get one which is screened and fully wired. In respect of a pole, just look in your local yellow pages for metal works or metal merchants. do not pay mote than £40.00 for a 3" strong pole or £25.00 for a 2" one. And don't forget the paracetamol

will i be able to recieve english channels(sky one, living, E4, MTV) or would i be better off getting a sky box for them.

You won't be able to recive above mentioned channels, only similar ones (english language) from different satellites. If you go sky box way, be prepared to pay a subscription. But you will receive FTA channels like BB1....2....etc

You can watch only one channel at the time. If you watch pre*iere, I'm sure you won't change it. Buy if you do , will take only seconds not minutes
