Any advantages of this software compared to others?

Also isnt this a bad idea for flash based memory? As they have a limited read/write lifetime unlike mechanical harddrives

Wouldnt say bad as when its writing you get to pick from 1 to 99 so your choice plus good if you want to offload all them old sd cards on ebay, you would be surprised that some people dont wipe the cards properly afterwards.

Having previously recovering data on both formatted and corrupted hard drives ( using GetDataBack ), and knowing how easy and successful this was, and with all the ID theft etc... going on, I would suggest that anyone would be crazy to get rid of any kind of storage media without either totally physically destroying it beyond repair, or using a secure wipe utility.

Whenever I get rid of an old HDD, I either use eraser, or take it apart, remove the disk platters, and bend them in half back-and fore until they snap.

Anyone wanting a very good FREE disk wipe utility google "tolvanen eraser". This allows you to secure erase files or the contents of the recycle bin ( instead of delete or empty ) as well as overwriting your free disk space with random data preventing un-delete utilities from bringing them back.
