At IFA in Berlin today, Samsung rolled out their first Windows 8 mobile phone named ATIV S. At 8.7 mm thin, it has similar physical specs to the Samsung Galaxy S III which is 8.6 mm. Both models feature a 4.8? HD Super AMOLED (1280x720) display enclosed in Corning Gorilla Glass. Both models also share an 8 megapixel rear camera with a 1.9 megapixel front camera. Micros SD card slot is also available for additional storage. The ATIV S features a 2,300 mAh battery, 200 mAh more than the Galaxy S III?s 2,100 mAh battery. 16 and 32 GB models are available, same as the Galaxy S III. A 1.5 Ghz dual core cpu drives the ATIV S, just like the one in the Galaxy S III. CNET reports that the phone will launch with HSPA+ 42 Mbps support so it?s likely to hit T-Mobile first. So based on specs alone, it appears to be a Galaxy S III running Windows 8 mobile. Of course specs alone cannot predict performance and user experience, especially when running different operating systems
