Apple will reportedly unveil its next iPhone ? the handset unofficially dubbed
iPhone 5? - in late September, a source in China familiar with the iGiant's plans has revealed.
Picked up on by French iFansite App4iPhone, the tipster who ?specialises in the manufacture of accessories? at one of Hong Kong?s three largest factories, received specifications from Apple on the 'technical apparatus' of its next-gen kit, including a release date: September 21st.
Call us sceptics, but we find it quite unlikely that Apple would willingly disclose a release date, especially one so specific, as it is probably the company's most closely guarded secret other than the phone itself.
Still, common sense and a whole lot of speculation from analysts and mystics alike suggests the iPhone 5 could very well be released by the end of September. So even if September 21st is a date plucked out of thin air, we reckon it?s close enough to be a realistic ETA.
Features the eagerly awaited handset is expected to bring include a larger, four-inch display, a slimmer and taller design, 4G and NFC capabilities and an improved eight-megapixel camera.
The source above also confirms growing chatter that the iPhone 5 will introduce a new, 19-pin mini dock connector to replace the existing 30-pin standard. According to a Reuters report, Apple has opted to shrink the port size to make space for moving the audio jack to the bottom of the handset.
What do you think? Is September 21st is a realistic iPhone 5 release date? Let us know

Seems like the rumours about the 19 pin dock connector were true then, which will totally piss off everyone that has docking stations etc for the standard 30 pin one which has been used across the board on all of Apple?s devices.

I hope Apple come up with some kind of adapter for anyone buying the new iphone 5 and don?t just expect the customer to happily go out and replace their docking stations, I somehow think they won?t, and will be quite happy to shaft the punters into having to buy replacements just because they?ve decided to change the size of the connector, I for one am not happy if this is the case and will be in no rush to upgrade as a result of it. :(

If apple dont make an adapter i bet a third party will come up with something, anything for apple to make more money out of its customers as if the dam things dont cost enough as it is lol

Hopefully Apple will provide a free adapter for anyone purchasing the new iphone when it comes out, (yea I'm an eternal optimist lol) at least that would prevent all the other cowboys from cashing on on anything.

Iphone 5 is nothing amazing and I think people are realising now that each new phone Apple brings out only has one or two new features and the price is huge. Can imagine apple fans still going out there to purchase it however

My opinion is Samsung m8 I have used both and I personally think Samsung is so much easyier to use none of this creating accounts for this that and another just a gmail account and your off to the downloads lol also if you need a tablet and phone look at the new note 2 looks really good.

well with the new IOS 6 which is out tomorrow, dont think it is worth getting the new iphone 5 as the 4s will do just the same as the iphone 5 untill next year, until we get 4G

I've decided against the iP5 aswell, I think I want a more capable device where I can use it more like a computer, so I'm going to give the Galaxy Note 2 a run and see how I like it, I know the screen is humongous but I really want a big screen, basically it will be like a computer in my pocket.
