Looking for a half decent tablet for less than ?100.

Seen a few on Amazon running Andriod 4 Ice cream sandwich but wondered if any of you actaully own one or have used one.

Really only need it for surfing web, a bit of facebook, you tube and maybe watching the odd movie.

Answers on a postcard.

Cheers

Ben

You can pick up a Haipad M7 for that price and that would be a good introduction. Lack of an IPS screen is the only downside of this pad, otherwise same processor as a Galaxy Tab etc.

?100 is going to be tough. I have an Archos A70 for ?140. The screen is ok, but servery susceptible by screen glare, with low contrast and meh resolution, its not very good to use on public transport especially in the summer. It packs 250GB of memory though, which I personally find extremely useful.

I can't think of any I'd recommend at that price point. The Nexus can be had for ?159 and is a stunning piece of the kit, the Kinde Fire HD will be roughly the same as well, both well worth saving for.

agreed for the money you can't go wrong with the Nexus 7 tablet , the latest Android OS jellybean and guaranteed to get the latest updates, rumours of a 32gb version soon to be released for maybe ?99

Things have moved on since the start of this thread with the Nexus and Kindle Fire.

To add to the list, Carphone Warehouse are today selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" 8GB for ?149, with a possible ?30 Cashback and a free 8GB Micro SD card from Samsung. At this price it may not last that long.

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Not a bad deal now if they would bring down the price of the 10" ones

@thelostone

thanks for posting the link. If you are after a 10", Amazon are selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10" with 3g for ?289 plus ?50 Samsung cashback. I realise this is quite a step up in price.

I played with a couple of bargain basement tabs at MWC last year - I think I'd last about twenty minutes with them before they ended up going through a window.

Fortunately, things like the Kindle Fire, amongst others, have come along and made the world of tablets a bit more affordable.

I'd save a bit more and stretch to that price range rather than tackle anything sub ?100.
