How to Jailbreak New iPad 3 iOS 5.1.1 with Absinthe 2.0

*** Your device must be running iOS 5.1.1 in order to use Absinthe 2.0 jailbreak.

Step 1

Before starting the iPad 3 jailbreak process with Absinthe 2.0, it is recommended to backup your personal stuff first. Make sure to backup your new iPad 3 data via iTunes (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. To do that, connect your new iPad 3 to your computer and open iTunes. Right-click on your device in iTunes and click Backup.
Step 2

Remove Passcodes or VPN settings (If previously set).
Now go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
This step will make the jailbreak process speedy and trouble-free.
Step 3

Execute the Absinthe 2.0 jailbreak and connect your iPad 3 to your computer via USB cable;
As soon as Absinthe detects the connected device, hit the jailbreak button.

Absinthe will perform various processes on your iPad such as: beginning jailbreak, sending initial jailbreak data, sending final jailbreak data, waiting for reboot, and waiting for process to complete. The whole process is automated.

Absinthe will notify you as soon as the jailbreak process is completed. Now you can find the sweet Cydia icon resting on your New iPad 3 Springboard.

If you're worried about losing your Cydia apps and settings after upgrading to iOS 5.1.1, you can download OpenBackup from the Cydia store (free) which will backup a list of all your apps and tweaks to iCloud. You can then restore them after upgrading and jailbreaking again. Hope this helps someone!
