LG is looking to take the whole 'phone as a personal assistant' thing to a completely new level. The Korean company is hard at work on a handset that can think for itself, .
LG Mobile managing director Kwon Bong-Suk told Korea's iNews24 that LG was in the preparation phase of developing a "thinking smart phone" that would add a new meaning to the phrase 'smart phone'.
Bong-Suk was a little light on details, but he did give one example. Say you set your alarm for six a.m., but there's heavy traffic on the road. Well the phone would wake you up half an hour early, so you can factor in the extra journey time.It does sound quite a useful feature. If it can learn from its owner's habits, then it could be pretty cool. Other devices already learn from what we like, so why not the gadget we carry with us everywhere we go? Such a feature would also help LG stand out from the identikit Android handsets currently flooding the market.
