Fortunately, most of the major Android manufacturers have already announced plans to bring the delicious OS refresh to an array of existing and upcoming devices.

SamsungSamsung has done a fairly admirable job in updating its devices, albeit sometimes not quite as promptly as owners would like. The good news is that the following Samsung devices are in line for an Ice Cream Sandwich update in the first quarter of 2012.

?Samsung Electronics plan to provide the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy devices. The platform update for Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note will start in the first quarter 2012, and other Galaxy devices will soon follow.

UPDATE (13/03/12):
Samsung has officially announced that Android Ice Cream Sandwich is currently being rolled out across Europe and other countries. UK customers are due to receive the update starting March 19th.
HTCHTC had something of an online riot in its hands from fans over the update debacle with the Gingerbread iteration of Android.
Although it?s keeping mum about plans for many older devices, it has confirmed an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich for the following handsets in early 2012. No specific dates have been revealed yet.

UPDATE (14/03/12)

HTC has officially confirmed that Ice Cream Sandwich will land on unlocked versions of the Sensation and the Sensation XE by the end of March, "followed soon" by the Sensation XL. Release schedule for the EVO 3D, Incredible S, Desire S and Desire HD will be revealed in the "coming weeks".

HTC has revealed a list of smartphones due for an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich very soon.
Sony EricssonSony Ericsson was one of the first Android OEMs to break cover, and rather bullishly, confirmed plans to update all the smartphones released under the Xperia banner in 2011.
The following smartphones will begin the update cycle from the end of March to early April.

LGWhile LG hasn?t had the most illustrious record in updating its devices to the latest OS release, it is trying to change its ways and has confirmed ICS will be rolled out to the following kits during Q2.

MotorolaGoogle?s acquisition of Motorola hasn?t necessarily meant it gets first dibs on the latest Android updates. The new Razr, for example, launched without ICS. However, Moto has promised it is working hard to bring ICS to the handsets and tablets listed as follows very soon.
